Lexington woman charged with reckless driving after car crash kills two children

Posted: Updated:

A Lexington woman faces three misdemeanor charges after a car crash killed two children back in May.

The Rockbridge County Commonwealth's Attorney is charging Ashley Baker of Lexington with reckless driving, improper child restraint, and driving with a suspended license.

Lexington Police say Baker's minivan ran off Route 11 bypass and hit the end of a bridge.

Though there were thunderstorms during the area, police don't believe the wet weather caused the crash.

Baker's 8-year-old daughter and her 4-year-old niece died in the crash.

She's due in court at the end of the month.
