JOHNSON CITY, TN -

Update at 10:31 p.m.

Police say a Jonesborough woman will be charged with D.U.I. after she lost control of her car and hit a house with a family inside.

It happened just before two this morning.

Police say Jessica Myers, 21, lost control of her car and hit the house at the corner of University Parkway and Hamilton Street.

Police said the crash moved a bed in the house.  An infant on the bed was thrown across the room, but the child suffered only minor injuries.

The house was so badly damaged the family had to move out Thursday.

Jessica Myers was admitted to the hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained in the crash.

The police report says a warrant will be obtained for Myers,  and the charge will be D.U.I..

UPDATE:

At 1:45 Thursday morning, Garrick Schwartz and his wife happened to still be awake when suddenly, "Loud crash, you know you could hear it throughout, it shook the entire house," said Schwartz.

Because of what had just happened they were unable to get out their front door, but a witness told Schwartz what he had already knew. "Confirmed, you know what I was afraid of, that our house had been hit by a vehicle," said Schwartz.

Police arrived to find the vehicle inside the bedroom of 510 Hamilton Street. "Crossed Hamilton Street and run into the yard and actually the vehicle had struck the house there on the corner," said Sgt. Jim Tallmadge.

Everything inside the home shifted. A TV fell into an empty baby playpen. The couple's 8-month-old son hurled through the air from where he was sleeping. "Our son who was laying at one end of the room when we put him at to sleep, was at the other end of the room, you know, laying between the bed and the dresser," said Schwartz.

The child was treated and released from a local hospital. Now, the power is off as a precaution and the Schwartz family is out of their home.

Schwartz told News Channel 11, "support pillars are, you know, shifted. The house is barely resting on pillars that can come down."

Police said while the crash is under investigation, they're already pretty sure what caused this to happen. Tallmadge said, "the officer has indicated in the report that alcohol was involved."

Johnson City Police said they'll make it public later Thursday night. At that point, we'll know the name of the woman driving the car and the specifics on any possible charges.

That driver was taken to the hospital as well no word yet on her condition.

The Schwartz family told us they have been trying to get a guardrail put up since they moved in last January. They hope after this wreck the city of Johnson City will take action.

A scary moment for a Johnson City family when a car hits the side of their home in the wee hours of the morning.

Debi Posavas told News Channel 11 that she is the owner of the home and the impact of the car caused her 8-month old grandson inside to fly across the room.  A relative said he was checked out at Niswonger's Children's Hospital and he is fine.

According to Johnson City Police dispatch, a car did hit the side of the home on the 500 block of Hamilton Street about 1:43 Thursday morning.

News Channel 11 was told two people were taken to the hospital. One for a routine check-up and one to the Emergency Room.
