CARROLL COUNTY, VA -

3:13 p.m.

State Police say the tractor trailer crash on I-77 north of Hillsville has been cleared.

VDOT's 511Virginia.org still shows slow moving traffic, and a 5-mile back-up.

11:39 a.m.

VDOT says traffic is backed up ten miles on Interstate 77 northbound, due to a lumber truck crash in Carroll County.

The crash is about eight miles north of Hillsville.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

One possible detour is to get off I-77 north at Hillsville, then take Route 52 north to the Austinville exit, and get back on I-77.

According to VDOT the north right late of I-77 at mile marker 22 in Carroll County is still closed.

According to VDOT's website the tractor trailer accident is backing up traffic six miles.

Drivers are advised to take a different route.

A tractor trailer accident on I-77 at mile marker 22 in Carroll County has both northbound lanes closed Friday morning. State police tell us the truck was hauling lumber and overturned. Preliminary reports say no one was hurt. It happened about 2 miles south of exit 24, Poplar Camp, near the Wythe County and Carroll County line.
