Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and the United Steelworkers (USW)
have reached tentative agreement on a new master contract covering about
8,000 employees at six U.S. plants, including Danville.
Ratification votes will be scheduled at the facilities in the near future.
The current three-year agreement ends Saturday at midnight.
United Steelworkers say wages, health care and pensions topped the list of issues set for the bargaining table.
The USW represents 850,000 workers in North America employed in many industries that embrace metals, rubber, chemicals, paper, oil refining and the service and public sectors.
