Final Score Exclusive: Top 5 Games in Dowdy-Ficken Stadium History---5. ECU 51, Tulsa 49 in 2010

GREENVILLE, N.C. -

WNCT-TV and The Final Score is listing the Top 5 games in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium history to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the stadium.

In the fifth position is East Carolina's 51-49 victory over Tulsa in 2010.

That game was the debut for Pirate coach Ruffin McNeill. It was also the first game for quarterback Dominique Davis as the starting quarterback for ECU.

The game will always be remembered for the final play. Davis heaved a 33-yard touchdown pass to a leaping Justin Jones as time ran out to give the Pirates the victory.

Davis was 27 of 46 for 383 yards with five touchdown passes in the game.

"That was the greatest experience of my life," said Davis. "There was probably people in the stands -- our fans -- who probably thought the game was over. But I told the team, 'Just trust.' As soon as I let it go, I knew he was going to catch it."

The teams combined for 1,117 total yards and the lead changed hands 12 times on a crazy Sunday afternoon in Greenville. Dwayne Harris caught seven passes for 121 yards while Lance  Lewis finished with six grabs for 105 yards.

We will continue our look at the top games next week, leading up to the August 31st opener with ODU.
