Ananda Rochita - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

Ananda Rochita joined the WSLS team as a reporter in July 2013. Ananda grew up in San Francisco and first made her way to the east coast on a Division I golf scholarship. She last served as the interim assistant news director/anchor for WHAG News in Hagerstown, Md. While at WHAG, Ananda's story on a family who was not allowed to photograph their newborn in the hospital garnered national attention and was featured on the show, The Drs.

Ananda received her master's from Georgetown University and her bachelor of arts from Mount St. Mary's University where she received the honors of a Distinguished Portfolio of her work in journalism.

Before WHAG, Ananda interned at WBAL TV in Baltimore, Maryland and served as Metro TV's bilingual reporter for "Indonesia Now" in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Ananda's passion for news is driven by people in the community. She is thrilled to be in the area not far from where she got her start in broadcasting and explore the beautiful landscapes of Southwest Virginia.
