Radford Boy Scout earns hometown news correspondent badge

Posted: Updated:

Keagan Henegar, our Boy Scout Jamboree news correspondent, has made his way back home after attending the national event this year in Beckley, West Virginia.

He spent more than week on grounds zip lining, shooting, and boating.

However, it was the reporting he did in between activities that had the middle schooler thinking about a career.

After the first video he sent back to us, he got the reporting gig down pat and shared with us his techniques in the field.

"Don't be nervous, roll with the flow, like I said find something at the camp that is cool, you want to talk about, think about what you're going to say, flip on the camera, say it, show them a little bit of the summit, shut it down, that's pretty much it," Keagan explained.

The next jamboree isn't for another four years, but Keagan says he plans to go back and even serve as a hometown news correspondent again.
