BEDFORD COUNTY, VA -

The Bedford County Sheriff's Office says its deputies have arrested a suspect in a series of car break-ins from the Forest area of the county.

After the sheriff's office released surveillance pictures of a person of interest in the case last week, tips led investigators to 34-year-old Christopher Powell, of Evington.

Deputies arrested Powell on charges of:

  • Grand larceny (2)
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Additional charges are pending.

Investigators believe Powell broke into and stole from cars in Forest between July 17th-22nd.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office helped with the investigation.
