The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is working to get more businesses to go green.
It's now launching NRV Green, an initiative that both recognizes member businesses already green and pushes to educate others to develop green policies. Chamber members say a lot of businesses want to go green but simply don't know how to go about it.
They say the New River Valley is a great market in which to do it. "It helps them reduce their cost as well as connects them with a customer base that desires to shop at Green oriented businesses," said Chamber board member Stuart Lynde.
The chamber is also planning a forum this fall in where green practices will be discussed.
A couple once believed to be missing are now suspects in connection with a string of burglaries. Joshua Bolt is still at large and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
