Virginia Western Community College is adapting to the changing demand for more technology-based summer camps.
The school added eight new technology courses this summer.
Classes range from video games to app design.
Paulette Parkhill, VWCC's Summer Camp Coordinator, says adding more technology-based camps made sense for the college. "It's preparing them for everyday life. And preparing them also for the job opportunities that will be out there for them," says Parkhill.
While the technology camps have done well this summer, some camps that were not centered around technology were canceled due to low interest.
