BEDFORD COUNTY, VA -

Bedford County's Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says officers arrested a New York man, following an internet predator sting.

Investigators say 38-year-old Charles Olmsted, of Newcomb, New York, made contact with who he believed were two underage girls between March and July.  Deputies copied communications in which they say Olmsted made sexually explicit comments.

Officers determined that Olmsted was a registered sex offender in New York.

Ater contacting New York State Police, officers served a search warrant at Olmsted's home.  New York officers arrested Olmsted on July 26th.  He has since waived extradition, and is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
