Henry County deputies search for knife attack suspect

HENRY COUNTY, VA -

The Henry County Sheriff's Office says it's searching for a man suspected of attacking a woman with a knife.

Investigators say 45-year-old Tammy Gayle Haymore called 911 at 7:13 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30th, and said 50-year-old Mack Douglas Shupe Jr. cut her arm with a knife.

Haymore claims the attack took place at their home in the 6500 block of A.L. Philpott Highway.

EMTs took Haymore to Memorial Hospital of Martinsville.  She has since been moved to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

The sheriff's office has a warrant for Shupe on a charge of felony malicious wounding.
