King Returns Home to Pulaski to Lead Cougars

Posted: Updated:

He's been a cornerstone of a nationally ranked UVA baseball program for four years.  But his roots are in Dublin.  And it's Pulaski County where he returned Wednesday night to help impart what he learned to his hometown talent. The Pulaski County baseball program welcomes back Jared King with open arms as the new head baseball coach.

The last time the program had a winning season--King was a part of it. In the five years King has been gone, the Cougars have only four victories.  Meanwhile Kings was making 202 starts at nationally ranked Virginia, making super-regional and World Series appearances.  BUt King returns home to his roots ready to start his career as a teacher and coach where it all began. King earned a Masters in Education and will be a full-time Physical Education teacher as well as a coach in Pulaski Co.
