Virginia farmers will soon have a better idea where the gubernatorial candidates stand on agriculture.
Republican candidate Ken Cuccinelli and his Democratic opponent Terry McAuliffe will be part of the Agriculture and Forestry Forum in Wytheville on Friday.
The event is set up for the candidates to talk directly to Virginia farmers to give their plans for the future of agriculture.
Virginia Farm Bureau Young Farmers Chairman Nate Aker said it's a topic both men need to take seriously.
"We have over 2,500 Young Farmers across the state that we communicate with and there will be over 200 at this event," Aker said. "To show that they are concerned and that they're focused on the future of agriculture in the state of Virginia is very important."
The forum is set for Friday from 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. at Wytheville Community College's Grayson Hall.
The event is closed to the public.
