Blacksburg metro area recognized for job growth

The Blacksburg-Christiansburg-Radford metro area is being recognized as the 29th "Best City for Job Growth" in the country.

NewGeography.com gave it the ranking because of its falling unemployment rate.

The employment rate in Montgomery County increased 9.2 percent from 2010.

The site attributes company expansions in Falling Branch Corporate Pak and the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center as a major factor in the community's economic growth.
