Back-to-School sales tax holiday underway

ROANOKE, VA -

Virginia's annual Back-to-School sales tax holiday is underway.

The three day holiday which starts Friday means you can get approved items sales tax free. Exempt items include clothing and shoe items that cost $100 or less as well as school and office supplies $20 or less.

That includes usual items like pencils and paper and also clothing like underwear and even lingerie.

You can find and print an all inclusive list of items here.

Some stores are offering extended hours through the weekend.
