NRV native, Kickstarter founder to appear on NBC's Today

One of the founders of Kickstarter, the popular crowdfunding site who is also from Blacksburg, will be on NBC's Today Friday morning.

Yancey Strickler will appear with filmmaker Spike Lee who has an open Kickstarter campaign right now. He's 11 days into a 30 day effort to raise more than a million dollars to fund his next movie.

The two will talk with Natalie Morales about Kickstarter and presumably why Lee is using social media to raise money to pay for the film. See the segment here.

With 19 days to go in his campaign, Lee has 2,675 backers and $532,396 pledged of his        $1, 250,000 goal.
