Delaware County Sheriff's deputies arrested a burglary suspect found hiding in a wooded area in Orange Township Thursday evening.

Deputies arrested Jeffrey Ward at about 8:30 p.m. in the area of Gooding Blvd at about 8 p.m.

Ward is accused of committing a burglary at a home in the 3200 block of Bunty Station Road at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to the sheriff's office, a homeowner returned to their residence and found two people in front of the home. One of the people asked the homeowner for directions.

After the homeowner realized that the back door had been broken into, the suspects got into their car and took off.

The suspect's car was seen by a deputy a short time later driving on Gooding Blvd. in Orange Township.

Deputies signaled for the vehicle to stop, at which time Marlee Chapa, 20, was arrested. Jeffrey Ward fled from the vehicle, eluding deputies.

Deputies searched the area for several hours, but were unable to find Ward.

Shortly before 8 p.m., deputies received a tip that Ward had been seen in the area of Gooding Blvd.

Ward was located and taken into custody.
