U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel will meet with his Russian counterpart today along with Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart. The four are expected to discuss a number of bilateral and global issues including NSA leaker Edward Snowden.

The president will sign a bill into law today that will cut interest rates on student loans. It will keep interest rates below four-percent for now, but the rates would be tied to financial markets, which means they will most likely rise in the future.

Governor Bob McDonnell will be in the Valley today to launch a statewide tour touting his administration's track record. He'll be at Andrew Lewis Middle in Salem at 1:00 and at the walkway between the Hotel Roanoke and Convention Center at 2:45 p.m.to make an announcement about Amtrak Service to the Star City.

The Red Cross and Virginia Tech are working together holding a blood drive inside Lane Stadium. It's from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.. Donors will be able to tour the 6th floor suites and meet Hokies Head Football Coach Frank Beamer.

C-SPAN will be in Wytheville beginning this morning to film The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum. It will be part of a program to be aired in September featuring First Lady Mrs. Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson.
