Phil Fills In: Self-defense class 'attacker'

Posted: Updated:
RALEIGH, N.C. -

More than 800,000 people were assaulted in the United States last year. Phil Sanchez had that statistic in mind when he decided to "fill in" at a self-defense class.

In our latest "Phil Fills In" segment, Phil took a trip to the Lee Brothers Tae Kwon Do studio in Raleigh to find out what it's like to be the "attacker" in a self-defense class.

Basically, Phil filled in as the punching (and kicking) bag for the students in order for them to learn how to better protect themselves.

Phil was punched, kicked, flipped and had all his pressure points tested. The class ended with a meditation, but Phil used that time to catch his breath and try not to cry.

Even though Phil was beaten and bruised, a good time was had by all.
