Abduction suspect connected to another missing girl case, long crime history

Posted: Updated:

Abduction suspect, Randy Taylor was in court Tuesday afternoon.

A Orange County Commonwealth Attorney tells WSLS, Taylor has a connection to another missing girl case in the area.

Samantha Clark was 19-year-old when she went missing in 2010. She confirms Taylor was a suspect in the Clark case. Taylor called Clark five times just hours before she went missing.  Clark has never been found.

"As Randy Taylor is someone that Samantha spoke with immediately prior to her disappearance, he remains someone we are very interested in learning more about," Orange County Commonwealth Attorney, Diana Wheeler says.

Taylor's crime sheet dates back to 1992, more than 20 years ago. He was convicted with grand larceny and burglary in Virginia Beach in 1993.

In 2005, he was also convicted of arson in Albermarle County.

Now, the most reason and serious offense, abduction.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Office confirms Taylor was caught on the same surveillance video as Murphy at different times at the Liberty Gas Station in Lovingston on Saturday, August 3rd.

That was the last time she was seen.

A Nelson County judge appointed an attorney to represent the suspect charged with the abduction of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy.

Taylor's next court date January 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. He is being held without bond at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
