More than one-hundred people joined together Wednesday for a "Group Kick" exercise in Roanoke at the Kirk Family YMCA in Downtown Roanoke.
It's all part of a new work out program that's the only one offered within 300 miles of Roanoke.
"Group Kick" uses kickboxing techniques. The class is formed for those who are just starting to work out as well as those who are a little more advanced.
The group focuses on encouraging exercise through a support system of people you meet at the gym.
Kim Bratic, the Communications Director at the Y says its better to work out with a friend.
"Doing it with friends is always a great way to stay active, Bratic said. " You have that accountability and you have a reason to come out. It's a fun social activity. People come in here all of the time by themselves and they get to make friends here so that's what the Y is all about."
