Woman and child hit by car in Danville

DANVILLE -

A woman and child are being treated for non-life threatening injuries after being struck by a car this morning.

Shortly after 8:00 am this morning Danville Police responded to Piney Forest Rd. and Maplewood St. for a report of a vehicle crash involving pedestrians.

The investigation revealed that a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling south on Piney Forest Rd. when it struck a 21-year-old woman and 6-year-old boy while they were attempting to cross the road. They were transported to Danville Regional Medical Center for treatment.

No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
