Cancer survivors to walk in first ever Cure by Design fundraiser

Posted: Updated:

The American Cancer Society is gearing up for the first ever Cure by Design event to fight cancer in style.

Cure by Design is all about celebrating cancer survivors, so when organizers asked survivors to serve as models Carolyn Williams was first to sign up to make a difference.

In 2007, Carolyn found herself in the doctor's office after a car accident and tests confirmed she had colon cancer.

"I can sit here and tell you I can safely say that car wreck was no accident, it was no accident.  That's the emotional part for me, that someone bigger than all of us got me to a doctor, she's not going to take herself, so we've got to do something to get her there," Williams explained.

Myself and Tara Wheeler from our sister station Fox 21/27 will co-emcee the event at the Hotel Roanoke October 25th.
