Congressman Morgan Griffith on declassified FISA court opinions

Posted: Updated:

Republican Congressman Morgan Griffith issued a statement today in response to declassified Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court opinions:

"I am pleased that the Administration is finally releasing several of the FISA Court rulings which show some of their reasoning in allowing the NSA surveillance programs to seize our phone records, etc.  Parts of the court's opinions were redacted in relation to the Fourth Amendment and they could not analyze all of the Fourth Amendment concerns due to the sheer volume of that task."

Congressman Griffith also says he is concerned the court was misled about the program.

The 9th District Representative says, "In order to reach a solution, I will need to carefully analyze these court opinions. I look forward to additional information being released."
