Sen. Warner co-sponsoring bill for VA beer industry growth

Posted: Updated:

Senator Mark Warner is looking at new ways to help Virginia's craft beer industry.

Warner is looking at co-sponsoring a bill to help Virginia breweries -- an industry which he calls a business multiplier.

The bill would help smaller breweries like Roanoke Railhouse by changing the taxes on beer they produce.

The Virginia craft beer industry has grown steadily over the past several years, currently generating nearly 52,000 jobs and $1.3 billion dollars in tax revenue for the commonwealth.
