A major announcement will be made this afternoon about embattled San Diego Mayor Bob Filner who is facing allegations of sexual harassment by a number of women. The mayor and city council have apparently reached a tentative agreement and a public announcement will be made after a vote.

The Department of Commerce will release figures for new home sales in July. It's expected a slight increase in mortgage interest rates will result in a slight decrease in sales for the month.

Roanoke Mayor David Bowers will give his annual State of the City address this morning. It's during the Regional Chamber of Commerce breakfast from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the Patrick Henry Ballroom.

The Chick-fil-A in Christiansburg will have a Virginia Tech spirit day event tonight from 5:00-6:00 p.m.. They're celebrating the Hokies' appearance against the University of Alabama in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.
