VA runner attempting world record, raising money for charity

Posted: Updated:

A Virginia Beach runner is trying to set a world record, with running partners who can't walk. Dennis Welch plans to run 24 straight hours while pushing disabled children in special running strollers.

He's doing it to raise money for a charity dedicated to including disabled children in running races. Welch will do the majority of the running on a middle school track.

In the final two hours, he'll compete in a half marathon. His record attempt begins August 31st.
