Fill the Humvee donation event

Posted: Updated:
SALEM, VA -

Volunteers with the Military Family Support Center were out in full force, collecting donations at the Salem and Bonsack Walmarts for a big Fill the Humvee event.

The MFSC Director, Jerry Brittain, says right now the food pantry is the most empty it has ever been, and they need donations to help support the military families.

"In between deployments it's hard for them to get jobs, because they're in for such short times," says Brittain. "People need to remember that these are the people that keep this country safe. And we need to help them out where we can, particularly when they're willing to sacrifice for us. We can sacrifice back to them."

If you weren't able to participate, you can still donate. Just take any items to the Military Family Support Center in Salem.
