Dale Lee Thomas is out of jail on bond after being charged with two felonies. Dale was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to sale, along possession of an illegal sawed-off gun.
Thomas turned himself into Roanoke City Jail on Friday, August 23rd. Police say four hours later, he bonded out.
Thomas has a prior criminal history of reckless driving and hit and run in 2008. His arraignment is Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Police found in Thomas' Fallon Avenue home, approximately 70 firearms, body armor, and about 10,000 rounds of ammunition.
On Monday, Fallon Park Elementary was put under a shelter in place alert, due to a warrant being served at a nearby home. Police came to the home in response to a man inside making threats to hurt other family members. 56-year old Dale Lee Thomas was taken into custody, and transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.
Students teachers and staff at the nearby school were in placed under a shelter in place for 2 hours, but classes were not interrupted.
