Roanoke City leaders say they're confident another hotel will soon come downtown.
The much anticipated hotel above the Market Parking Garage downtown hit a road block earlier this month after construction bids came in significantly higher than expected.
Even with the delay, Mayor David Bowers is confident the project will get back on track and eventually help the downtown grow.
"The city is very excited about having another hotel in downtown Roanoke," Bowers said.
He added that the Market Garage hotel could just be the beginning.
"I think it's important because I think it may be the lead into other hotels moving into downtown Roanoke," Bowers said.
The city is working with the developer on financing the new hotel.
The goal is to begin work in early 2014.
