Carnival worker accused of raping teenage girl at fairgrounds

GRAY, TN (WJHL) -
A man employed as a worker at the Appalachian Fair in Gray in accused of raping a teenage girl at the fairgrounds last week.

According to the Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office, Harold Robert House, 29, Johnson City is charged with 8 counts of aggravated statutory rape and 2 counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.   

A preliminary investigation revealed House was a contract employee hired by the company that operated rides at the fair, an investigator said.

House was in jail Tuesday night on $111,000 bond.

An investigator with the Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office said more information will be released about this case Wednesday as well as details about several other crimes connected to the fair last week.
