Man arrested on child pornography charges

Posted: Updated:

On August 13, Lynchburg Police officers arrested 28-year-old Chad William Jarrett on possession of child pornography charges.

Investigators say Jarrett was on probation for a prior conviction for Possession of Child Pornography back in February.

Earlier this month, officers seized several electronic devices and submitted them for examination by the Lynchburg Police Department's Digital Evidence Recovery Unit, an affiliate member of the Southern Virginia ICAC Task Force.

Preliminary results showed multiple files of child pornography on the devices.

Officers arrested Jarrett on August 13 and charged him with 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography 2nd or subsequent offense.

Jarrett is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg without bond.

The incident remains under investigation.
