It started as an investigation into a meth operation but it lead Montgomery County Sheriff's Office to finding two girls ages 16 and 17 involved in an underground sex ring.
Officials say when drugs come into a community more crimes follow.
"People use a lot of different methods to try to obtain money to facilitate the drug trade and prostitution is one of those things," says Captain Robert New.
The two girls are from Montgomery County. One was found in the Collinsville area and the other in the Christiansburg area.
Investigators say the first step in this case was to find out where the two girls were. They said they found one of the girl's number on an online advertisement and set up a time and place to meet.
Investigators say cases like these aren't uncommon. Many girls are lured at a young age and being targeted to depend on the business.
"It is an epidemic that is going around the world," says Capt. New. "It is very lucrative in the underbelly of society as far as money goes unfortunately juveniles are being brought in it."
He says the internet has only added to the problem with the easier access to sex ads and while this is uncommon for the area it's still something the sheriff's office is trying to stop through fighting other crimes.
"One case is a big problem," says Capt. New. "Even if it's one child that is being exploited it's a major concern for law enforcement and we want to make sure to take care of that."
