Drivers in the Salem and Glenvar area have faced double trouble in terms of traffic.
It's been a challenge for students to teachers to get to and from classes the past two days, with many drivers deciding to go use 460 in front of the school to get around I-81.
Plus, a V-DOT construction project to widen route 460 for two miles, was already causing some congestion issues.
Glenvar High School student, Levi Mullins, started his senior year this week and calls the traffic just chaotic.
"It's pretty congested from all the interstate traffic," student Levi Mullin says. "My brother and sister try to leave 10-15 minutes early to make sure we get to class on time."
Glenva High School principal Sonya Cline says they've been understanding with late-comers.
"I just know it creates frustration everywhere and we try to be as reasonable as possible with people coming in late and what not with the issues out front."
