8th Annual Spay-ghetti set in Roanoke

Posted: Updated:

The Roanoke Valley SPCA is pushing forward with one of it's most successful annual fundraiser's.

The 8th annual "Spay-ghetti" will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the Jefferson Center.

All proceeds from the event go towards the RVSPCA's in house spay/neuter clinic. Since opening the limited admission, no kill adoption and education center in 2004, nearly 11,000 pets have been spayed/neutered in the clinic before being made available for adoption.

Mary Renwick, the Development coordinator with the RVSPCA says that medical care for the homeless and unwanted animals who call the RVSPCA "home" while waiting for a family is one of the centers largest budgetary line items, but is crucial to reducing the population of unwanted pets.

This fundraiser offers a full Italian meal consisting of spaghetti with meat or marinara sauce, salad, bread and a beverage will be served for lunch and supper. Wine is also available for purchase and there will be a bake sale with home baked goodies as well.

Donors wishing to contribute to the "100 faces of the RVSPCA" will be entered into a drawing for an Italian Gift Basket that will include restaurant gift certificates, a certificate for homemade lasagna and other goodies.

Tickets can be purchased online.
