Fire damages Cave Spring apartment complex

ROANOKE COUNTY -

12:30 A.M. UPDATE-

Workers at Villages of Garst Creek Apartment complex confirm that there was a stove fire around 10:00 p.m. Monday night.

Little to no fire damage is reported, however there is heavy smoke damage. Two people inside the apartment were transported Roanoke Memorial Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

Two members of the Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department were taken to Lewis Gale and treated for smoke inhalation as well.

The Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department had to bust the door of the apartment down in order to get into the apartment.

Both victims were unresponsive when they entered.

Members of the fire department say the fire is still under investigation.

No other injuries were reported. Tenants in the upstairs apartment say they had to leave for the night due to smoke damage to their apartment. 

 

 

We've just received information into our newsroom about a fire at an apartment complex in Roanoke.

The Cave Spring Volunteer Fire Department tells us they responded to a fire at "Villages of Garst Creek" Apartment Complex around 10 p.m.

Investigators say the fire has now been put out.

No word on injuries.
