President Barack Obama travels to Sweden for the first visit of his presidency. White House officials say he'll hold bi-lateral talks with Sweden's prime minister to discuss trade and international security. The president will head to Russia later in the week where he'll join leaders of the world for the G20 summit.

Weather permitting, VDOT will begin work on Route 689 (Huckleberry Ridge Road) in Floyd County today. The road will be closed to traffic through Thursday as a pipe is replaced. You'll need to find an alternate route.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is conducting a pulse release at Gathright Dam near Covington today.

The pulse is expected to raise the water level downstream in the Jackson River by up to five feet in some sections and up to three feet in the upper James River, but will remain several feet below flood stage.

The Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington is changing its hours starting today. It will be open Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.,10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It will be closed on Sunday.
