"Let Me Be Frank:" new book about VT's Frank Beamer

Posted: Updated:

Virginia Tech's head football coach, Frank Beamer has been working together with author Jeff Snook on a new book released Sunday, titled "Let Me Be Frank."

In it, he goes into a lot of detail, not just about the Virginia Tech football program but his entire life.

Many of us are used to one side of Coach Frank Beamer, on the football field and addressing questions about the game soon after. However, this new book touches on so many other aspects of his life, including a fire that seriously injured him as a child, his own college football career and even meeting his wife.

The title, "Let Me Be Frank," seems to be a perfect fit for the coach who is extremely frank when telling many of these stories.

"One review said it was poignant, critical and revealing," says Coach Beamer. "So those are three words that are not used with me very much, but I think there are some interesting stories and I think Jeff made it interesting."

"It's just the truth," says author, Jeff Snook. "Aside from anything that would hurt someone's feelings or get them in trouble, those are the only things we stayed away from."

Some other big issues addressed in the new book include the April 16th tragedy at Virginia Tech and Coach Beamer temporarily taking another job for about 9 days.
