The wheels on the bus are turning a lot more these days in Rockbridge County.
Maury Express -- which transports people across Lexington and Buena Vista -- has seen a 30 percent increase in ridership and has provided nearly 3,900 more trips this year.
Roanoke based RADAR, which runs Maury Express, says the localities and universities in the area have done a good job promoting the service, which likely explains the increases.
RADAR recently added a new bus to the Maury Express fleet to help keep up with the demand.
Maury Express runs 8:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 10:00am - 4:00pm on weekends. The fare is 50 cents per trip. Washington & Lee and VMI students can ride the bus for free by showing their student IDs.
