Hooker Furniture Reports Double-Digit Sales for Second Quarter
By WSLS Staff
Hooker Furniture reports net sales of $55.3 million and net income of $1.7 million, or $0.16 per share, for its fiscal 2014 second quarter, which ended August 4, 2013.
The company says the net sales gain was driven by higher average selling prices in case goods and increased unit volume and lower discounting in the upholstery segment.
Paul B. Toms Jr., chairman and chief officer said today, "We are optimistic about our longer-term future, both with our core business and our new ventures with the H Contract brand targeting retirement housing and senior living facilities, and the Homeware online-only brand."
