GILES COUNTY, VA -

1:45 p.m.

Valinda Parker, the 59-year-old woman who was lost while hiking, has been found.

Sheriff Morgan Millirons of Giles County says she was found in Big Stoney Creek after hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Millirons says Parker seems to be okay and in good health, and got just lost while hiking through the woods.

Giles County Sheriff Morgan Millirons tells WSLS that deputies are searching for a missing 59-year-old woman.

According to the Associated Press, the woman was last seen hiking around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, in the Big Stoney Creek area of the Jefferson National Forest.

WSLS is working to learn additional facts about the missing woman, and the search for her.
