Virginia Museum of Transportation will host Dancing with the Val - WSLS 10 NBC in Roanoke/Lynchburg Va

Virginia Museum of Transportation will host Dancing with the Valley Stars for the second year in a row

Virginia Museum of Transportation Director, Bev Fitzpatrick knows how intense being a Dancing with the Valley Stars participant can be.

He explains, "What you really appreciate is how much work has been put in by the dancers and their partners because it is not easy.  It is a real challenge and you are giving a lot of yourself to make this a successful fundraiser."

WSLS 10's Karen McNew is one of several community leaders practicing and preparing for the November 9th event that benefits Turning Point through the Salvation Army.

Salsa Noke's Edgar Ornelas is coaching Karen on Salsa moves and choreographing a routine.  Tuesday morning the two practiced at the Virginia Museum of Transportation to get a feel for what the event will be like and which moves will and won't work there.

The star win by raising the most money.  So even if Karen happens to be one of the most talented dancers,  the only way she can win is by raising the most money for Turning Point through the Salvation Army.

Stay tuned for donation details if you would like to help Karen and Edgar take home the top prize.
