Member of Floyd Co. Electoral Board Investigated for Child Pornography

Posted: Updated:
FLOYD COUNTY -

A member of the electoral board in Floyd County is being investigated for child pornography. According to an affidavit, Nolen Goad who is listed as the electoral board secretary said he looked at pornography on his computer in the county's office but wasn't aware it was child pornography.

Goad also adds that he doesn't have internet at his home which is why he used the office computer.

That office is located in the same building as the sheriff's department and Floyd County Courthouse.

Through a search warrant, a laptop, desktop, and three USB thumb drives were taken from Goad's home.

The sheriff's department and state police are continuing to investigate this.

The sheriff's department just opened their new office to fight crimes against children online. The main investigator for these kinds of crimes uncovered the pornography images while reviewing files on the computer in the electoral board office.
