Cartledge and Lorton to Be Inducted into Roanoke's Business Hall of Fame.

Posted: Updated:

Once again this year, Junior Achievement will honor two of the most successful business leaders in the region as new laureates in the Southwest Virginia Business Hall of Fame.

The inductees this year are George Cartledge Jr., CEO of Grand Home Furnishings and Don Lorton, retired CFO of Carilion Clinic.

Jason Bingham will receive a new award for the regions young entrepreneur.

For the past 23 years Junior Achievement has honored the business people who have contributed the most to Roanoke throughout its history.  And -- each has been as civic minded as they have been successful financially.

"You could talk to them and ask them and they have shaped something very essential to our life here.  All of these men and women have had vision for our area.  that's the best word for our laureates -- they all have vision, they all have impeccable ethics when it comes to business," said Jr. Achievement Executive Director Kathrerin Elam.

This year's gala is at the Hotel Roanoke on November 12.

WSLS is pleased to be the media sponsor.

WSLS news anchors Karen McNew and John Carlin will be the evening's emcees.
