The Alexis Murphy family teams up with the Help Save The Next Girl organization, started in honor of Morgan Harrington.

The Virginia Tech student abducted and murdered back in 2009.

Both the Murphy and the Harrington family came together this afternoon for what they say was one of their biggest fundraising and awareness event to date.

It's the first time mothers Laura Murphy and Gil Harrington were able to meet.

They set up at Chandler's Bakery in Charlottesville, near where Alexis' car was found at the Carmike Cinema more than a month ago.

Families from missing girls, Samantha Clark and Sage Smith were also at the event.

They raised 500 dollars.
