The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement just launched this smart phone app called 'Operation Predator' last week.
It's an app that's quickly gaining popularity for it's ability to help federal law enforcement.
The Acting ICE Director says the app allows the public to be extra eyes and ears for law enforcement.
He says when children are being sexually abused and exploited, it's a race against the clock to rescue the child.
The app has three main features:
- 'Tip Section' where you can report suspected sexual predators anonymously by phone or online any time of the day
- 'News Section' where you can check out other criminal cases the agency has worked on
- 'Alert Section' lists people who are wanted for child crimes, including some photos giving you a way to help catch child predators
The app is free but is only available for iPhones. ICE is working on making versions for other smart phones.
A couple once believed to be missing are now suspects in connection with a string of burglaries. Joshua Bolt is still at large and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
