The historic Maridor Bed & Breakfast will be auctioned off Friday.
The more than 10,000 square foot home in the Raleigh Court area of Roanoke has eight bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and three half baths. It will be sold along with antiques and other furnishings.
Woltz & Associates which is organizing the auction tells us its received calls from potential buyers as far away as California. The buyer could keep the Maridor as a B & B or change its purpose all together. W
Woltz & Associates has heard a number of ideas for use. "Having a therapy office and having retreats-- still utilizing that bed and breakfast but for therapy for couples which is an interesting idea," Jonna McGraw said of one suggestion. "There are some people who just want it as their home. It's a magnificent home. There are people who want it just as an event center, bring in their own caterer."
The minimum bid is $675,000 including real estate, furnishings and trade name.
The auction begins at 2:00 p.m..
