Blacksburg-based 'Koofers' website big success

Posted: Updated:

A Blacksburg based start-up company created by three Virginia Tech alumni is now used by more than one million students across the country.

The website "Koofers" provides students with study materials, like flashcards, notes, and ratings on professors. You can even connect with potential classmates through social media.

Koofers founders have raised an impressive $6 million since starting the company in Blacksburg in 2006.

The founders unveiled a new tool they created called 'Campus Recruiter.' It gives employees a way to filter through the community of students on the website. Managers can sort through universities, majors, and GPA's, to find potential employees.

They can also message the students directly or provide video response to interview questions.

An average of 1,500 students sign up to use the website each day.
