Health officials say that summer is a difficult time for collecting blood. According to the American red cross, one donation can save up to three lives.
To help in the need, the RC-giles Breakfast Branch Lions Club is hosting a blood drive at Pembroke United Methodist Church.
Anyone who donates will be entered into the Donor Days Sun, Fun, & Saving lives prize raffle.
Member Melvin Chambless says there is a winner announced every week.
All donations will go to support Carilion's New River Valley hospitals.
